Dura-Line is hiring for a Production Operator in Elyria, Ohio at our Garden Street location.

The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating extrusion equipment and handling finished product reels to produce high-quality conduit that meets company specifications. This includes monitoring product quality, making necessary process adjustments, documenting operating conditions, ensuring conduit is wound neatly on reels, changing completed reels, and supporting production needs across multiple lines to maintain safe and efficient operations.
The Production Operator will work a 2-2-3 schedule of 6:45 to 7 either days or nights.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and optimize extrusion lines to safely produce high-quality products that meet customer and quality specifications.
Adjust process parameters, tooling, and equipment settings to maintain product quality, maximize efficiency, and minimize scrap.
Perform quality inspections, verify product dimensions and tolerances, and make process corrections as needed.
Lead line startups, shutdowns, product changeovers, size changes, and equipment set-up activities.
Troubleshoot process and equipment issues, coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve problems.
Ensure proper product identification, marking, packaging, reel winding, and shipment preparation in accordance with customer requirements.
Accurately complete production, quality, and inventory documentation.
Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and ensure smooth operational transitions.
Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards, reporting any hazards or equipment concerns.
Participate in training, continuous improvement, and problem-solving initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting extrusion or similar manufacturing equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to perform extrusion line setup, changeovers, process adjustments, and quality verification activities with minimal supervision.
Strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards, production processes, and safe work practices.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and production documentation systems.
Ability to interpret work instructions, production specifications, and quality requirements; strong math and measurement skills required.
Experience with material handling equipment, including forklifts, preferred.
Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail while working safely and consistently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Basic English communication skills required for safety, quality, and operational documentation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to wear all required protective equipment including steel-toed, shoes, gloves and eye and hearing protection for the entire shift
Ability to stand and walk long distances on the plant floor for 12 hours on a shift
Ability to work in an environment that may be exposed to external elements (hot and cold temperatures) and occasional loud noises.
Ability to lift and carry, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift.
Ability to climb, reach, squat, and bend.
Ability to work in environments with temperature variation and noise.

Our Offer:
The compensation for this position is typically start at $18.50+/Hour.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
